Odisha Schools to reopen for classes 8 to 11 from October 21

Odisha Schools are set to reopen for physical classes from October 21, 2021. Schools would resume with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols. While physical classes would start for class 11 from October 21, they would start from October 25 for class 8 students. As schools reopen, all stakeholders would be expected to follow the COVID-19 guidelines such as wearing masks, using hand sanitizers, maintaining social distancing, and others.

Recently, Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash mentioned that the decision to resume physical classes has been taken after the direction of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Schools have already started physical classes for students of classes 9 to 12. The government decided to continue both online and offline classes for students, thus following a hybrid model.

Further, the death ratio due to COVID-19 in the state is 0.80%. Meanwhile, the Odisha government already allowed the resumption of physical classes from September 20, 2021.
